In 2000, Mia left a successful corporate career with Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals to begin fulfilling her true purpose of speaking and teaching. Mia is the Co-Pastor and Executive Director of Ministry at The Fountain of Praise. Alongside her husband, Pastor Remus E. Wright, the couple leads a congregation of more than 20,000 members, making theirs one of the largest churches in the USA. She leads the Volunteers Ministries and the Social Media platforms for The Fountain of Praise.
In addition to her church leadership and professional speaking platforms, Mia’s passion to empower others is fulfilled as the Executive Director of the Metamorphosis, Inc., a women’s empowerment organization. Her leadership skills have lead to the growth of Metamorphosis Inc. and have inspired thousands of people to live more fulfilling lives. Metamorphosis encompasses the life changing women’s conference based in Houston, a mentoring program for teenage girls, compassion outreach, empowerment seminars, and international programs.
A life long learner, Mia is a Fellow in Class XLV of the American Leadership Forum whose mission is to join and strengthen diverse leaders to better serve the common good.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Mia is a life long leader and was active in many student activities. Following college, she embarked on a career in the pharmaceuticals industry where she was highly successful as both a sales professional and training specialist with Astra Merck (now Astra Zeneca). Mia was featured in the Astra Merck 1993 Corporate Report for her innovative customer service with Memorial Hospital of Houston. Mia entered the ministry in 2000, and with a commitment to education and preparation, she began seminary in 2001. Mia graduated with a Master of Divinity degree, with Honors, from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005. She participated in the First Century Church Study in Tunisia, Africa.
Mia is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and The Links, Inc. However, beyond her impressive academic background and professional accomplishments, her greatest achievements are her family, notably, her 27-year marriage to her husband and their three sons, who are each fulfilling their life’s purposes as a minister, an attorney and a medical school student.
